About Me & My Journey

Namaste! From a girl with no clue of what to do in life, to a woman who loves her profession and want to serve the society for more. It is, but her mother's belief in her. Yes, if it was not my mother's undoubted belief in me and her frequent motivations, I would have never ended up choosing Ayurveda after my 12th.

The seed of Ayurveda was sown in the family way before 1950, by our maternal grandfather who was an Ayurveda Doctor and who always taught us a way of living which is the basis of Ayurveda. Instilling these deep habits in the family, had given each one of us a special respect towards Ayurveda, but none of them could actually continue his footsteps to take this as a career option. I was the lucky one :)

The first thing that came to my mind once I took this step is to set up something of my own someday. That was my dream. Shushruta Ayurveda Medical College, PrashantiKutiram, Bangalore, was my stepping stone to the world of Ayurveda. After my graduation in BAMS, I joined the HCG Cancer Institute in Bangalore, as a Medical Assistant. I gathered more knowledge on the professional front definitely, but beyond that was the continuous learning from 6am to 9pm every single day for 365 days and that transformed me to an individual who wanted to serve the society.

Two years down the line, I was married to a family who also deeply believed in Ayurveda. It was my father in law who had a deep influence on Ayurveda and who was extremely happy in welcoming an Ayurveda doctor to their family. I had to move to Kerala from Bangalore after marriage.

Acknowledging my passion to continue my career my father in law suggested starting a clinic. It was my dream coming true so I readily agreed. With my husband's support and others in the family we finally decided to set the clinic up, right in front of the house in Puduruthy. The logos, name of the clinic, the small infrastructure set up, few necessary arrangements (bed, chairs, medical instruments etc.) everything was discussed and each and every person in the family was involved into getting this working. And finally we did it.

On 20 th Aug 2014, my dream, my first clinic - "Janaki Madhavam" was inaugurated with the presence of close family members, friends, neighbors. I was also able to give a free service on the first day to a few of them. After this there were people coming to the clinic for visits from the surrounding areas and it gave me more confidence to keep going. But all this was happening just as a part time after my regular office hours @ Deepanjali. I wish to keep growing this more, to serve people to a better world. I wish the lord supports me in the journey.

My professional journey in Kerala also includes working with Vaidyaratnam (Ollur, Thaikkattussery) ; AyurBethaniya (Wadakancherry) and Deepanjali Wellness & Retreat (Chazhur), where I also currently work.
